Helping home cooks prepare for the holidays with new potato recipe inspiration
October 20, 2022
The holidays are fast approaching, which means home cooks will be scouring the internet for recipe inspiration. Over the past five years, the term ‘potato recipes’ has spiked in Google searches during November and December. This interest in finding new and exciting ways to prepare potatoes is an excellent opportunity to share new creative concepts. Chef RJ and the Potatoes USA culinary team created 21 new recipes in the Spud Lab to help people bring flair to their holiday spread.
The new recipe concepts range from lighter and mindful dishes to comforting and indulgent meals. Dishes, such as the Fall Harvest Mashed Potatoes, spotlight a more mindful approach to preparing America’s favorite vegetable by incorporating butternut squash puree to lend a creamy texture without using cream or butter.
For a heartier take on potatoes, comfort dishes were developed, too, such as Skillet Hash Brown Stuffing and Potato Cinnamon Rolls with Pumpkin Spice Cream Cheese Icing. And with leftovers almost guaranteed after a holiday, dishes that repurpose food appear in the new swath of recipes, such as the Thanksgiving Chowder or Mashed Potato Stuffed Crescent Rolls.
Everyone is encouraged to use the recipes in their marketing campaigns, including posting them on websites and social media channels and sharing them with friends and families. The recipes and photos are available at the bottom of this page.
