Summary of fresh potato sales from Marketing Year 2021 (July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021).


  • Dollar and volume sales remain above MY2019.
  • Yellow, petite, medley, and fingerling potatoes increased in both dollars and volume compared to MY2020.
  • 1-4 pound bags of potatoes are the only pack type that increased in dollars and volume compared to MY2020.
  • Value added potatoes such as trays, micro/steamers, and single wrapped increasesd in dollars and volume compared to MY2020.

Total Potato Sales: July – September 2023


Potato retail dollar sales remained strong for the quarter from July-September 2023, up 9.5% from the same period a year ago. All categories of potatoes increased in dollar sales. Fresh volume sales remained stable compared to a year ago (-0.4%), led by increases in yellow (3.3%), red #2.8%), and fingerling potatoes (3.9%). Total potato volume sales slightly decreased (-1.7%) compared to a year ago.
