Objective:

Summary of the 2021 Total Potatoes Sales from January 1 through December 31, 2021.

Highlights:

  • Dollar and volume sales are above the same time period in 2019.
  • Deli-prepared sides increased in dollar and volume sales compared to 2020 but have not returned to pre 2020 levels.
  • All prices are up per pound from 2020 except for dehydrated potatoes which decreased.
  • Sales for January and February grew by double digits in volume and dollar sales which was prior to the panic buying that began in March.

Total Potato Sales: July – September 2023

Objective:

Potato retail dollar sales remained strong for the quarter from July-September 2023, up 9.5% from the same period a year ago. All categories of potatoes increased in dollar sales. Fresh volume sales remained stable compared to a year ago (-0.4%), led by increases in yellow (3.3%), red #2.8%), and fingerling potatoes (3.9%). Total potato volume sales slightly decreased (-1.7%) compared to a year ago.
