Potatoes USA Appoints 2021-2022 International Marketing Committee Co-Chairs

DENVER (April 28, 2021) — Jason Davenport of Bakersfield, California and Steve Streich of Kalispell, Montana were elected to the Potatoes USA Executive Committee on March 11, 2021 at the organization’s Annual Meeting. This will be Davenport’s first year serving as an International Marketing Committee Co-Chair and his fifth year on the Board and on the Executive Committee where he previously served as chair of Finance and Policy Committee, and Co-Chair of the Industry Outreach and Domestic Marketing Committees. Streich will be serving his sixth year on the Board and his fourth year on the Executive Committee, previously having served as Co-Chair of the International Marketing Committee.

Davenport is the owner of Allied Potato, Inc., based in Bakersfield, California and has farming operations in Washington, Oregon, and Colorado. Allied Potatoes’ major varieties are Atlantic, NY115, Lamoka, Pike, Frito-Lay varieties, and Russets, which are grown for the chip-stock, organic, seed, and fry markets. Davenport looks forward to applying his well-rounded experience on the Potatoes USA leadership to bring forth the best tactics and strategies for the International Marketing Committee. Davenport is also involved in the Farm Bureau, Western Growers, and Life Pioneer’s CEO group. He graduated from the Potato Industry Leadership Institute in 2010.

Streich has been farming for the past 34 years and focuses and focuses on growing russet seed for process growers in Washington. He is the owner of Streich and Associates, Inc., which he manages with his son Paul. As a co-chair of the committee, Streich is looking forward to strengthening global demand for U.S. potatoes, especially after the pandemic. Outside of his involvement with Potatoes USA, he is the director of the Flathead Farm Mutual Insurance Company, director of CHS Kalispell, and is a member of the Montana Potato Improvement Association. Streich is also a 2010 graduate of the Potato Industry Leadership Institute.

The International Marketing Committee is focused on increasing U.S. potato exports across all product types, expanding access for U.S. potatoes across the globe and for ensuring international consumers and trade members know U.S. potatoes for their quality and nutritional benefits. The committee oversees foodservice, retail, ingredient, consumer, market access and seed potato export marketing programs in 25+ international markets.
