Potatoes USA Appoints 2020 – 2021 Domestic Marketing Committee Co-Chairs

Steve Elfering of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Jaren Raybould of Saint Anthony, Idaho were elected to the Potatoes USA Executive Committee as the Domestic Marketing Committee Co-Chairs on March 11, 2020 at the organization’s 48th Annual Meeting. This is Elfering’s ninth year on the board and second year as a Domestic Marketing Committee Co-Chair. Raybould has served on the board for five years, and this is his third year as a Domestic Marketing Committee Co-Chair.

Elfering is the Vice President of Operations at Potandon Produce and has been with the company for 26 years. His responsibilities include Russet and Onion production, quality inspection, grower and owner relations. Potandon Produce has farmed potatoes for 14 years. Some of the organizations Potandon Produce is a member of are Produce Marketing Association, United Fresh Produce Association, Idaho Grower Shipper Association, Washington Potato and Onion, and Western Growers Association.

Raybould is the owner and manager of Raybould Brothers Farms and he has been in the potato industry for 18 years. He is on the Yellowstone Soil Conservation District Board, and he is an Idaho/East Oregon Potato Control Committee member. Raybould is looking forward to working with his fellow board members and co-chair to find new and innovative ways to get more people eating more potatoes in more ways.

The Domestic Marketing Committee oversees the Potatoes USA consumer, nutrition, retail, ingredient, and foodservice marketing programs. The committee is focused on encouraging more people to eat more potatoes in more ways, and on positioning potatoes as a performance food. The marketing programs are designed to inspire potato innovation across all channels, cultivate strategic partnerships and advocate for scientific research to demonstrate potatoes’ role in enhancing physical and mental performance.
