CPAC Brings the Potato Performance Message to Fit Foodie Festival
The Colorado Potato Administrative Committee (CPAC) showcased potatoes as a performance fuel at Denver’s Fit Foodie Festival 5K and 10K, a race designed to educate participants on how to live a healthy lifestyle while enjoying delicious foods, hence the name. Over 1,000 people visited CPAC’s performance themed booth to learn how potatoes fuel performance and to enjoy grilled Colorado Potato Planks, a simple recipe that participants replicate. The reaction people had about the presence of potatoes can be summed up with one word—enthusiastic! It was apparent that many of the athletes already had a love for the vegetable; however, there were some skeptics that ended up walking away with a new and positive view!
CPAC has been actively promoting the performance messaging since the campaign launched. CPAC’s Marketing Administrative Assistant, Jessica Crowther, says, “CPAC loves being able to share the “What Are You Eating?” messaging with consumers to educate them on not only the San Luis Valley potato industry but also on the “powerhouse” a potato is!” It’s easy to join the movement and get involved; all you need to do is reach out to erena@potatoesUSA.com to request materials for your next event.
