Hundreds of Dietitians Tuned in to Potatoes USA Webinar with the Culinary Nutrition Collaborative

May 27, 2026

In April, Potatoes USA collaborated with the Culinary Nutrition Collaborative (CNC) on a webinar titled Potatoes and Healthful Eating Patterns: Exploring Metabolic Health, Satiety, and Culinary Potential for culinary-focused dietitians. Nearly 900 nutrition professionals tuned in.

The CNC is a continuing education provider for registered dietitians, offering opportunities to learn more about the intersection of nutrition and culinary applications.

Potatoes USA Nutrition Director Riley Peterson co-presented with CNC dietitians Jackie Topol and Kristy Del Coro on a webinar that highlighted evidence-based insights on potatoes’ nutrient density and research on cardiometabolic health, satiety, and diet quality.

In addition to sharing key insights into potatoes’ nutritional advantages, the webinar featured cooking demos of two PotatoGoodness.com recipes to showcase potatoes’ health-forward applications: Easy Potato Gnocchi and Greek Style Potato Salad with Lemon, Mint, and Yogurt.

Attendees were amazed by the practical and nutrient-dense advantages of potatoes. During the Easy Potato Gnocchi demonstration, using dehydrated potato flakes, one commented, “[The presenter] said ‘instant,’ and now I’m sold on them as a product to add to my pantry!”

In addition to the nearly 900 nutrition professionals who tuned in live, the recording will be available for a year for other nutrition professionals to watch and receive continuing education credits.

This virtual event delivered evidence-based potato nutrition education by demonstrating practical, health-forward recipes that nutrition professionals can immediately use in counseling and teaching, thereby strengthening potatoes’ presence in culinary nutrition education.
