Host a Spooky Spud Party This Halloween

October 22, 2026

“Potato parties” are having a moment. Hosts are building entire gatherings around America’s favorite vegetable on social media — and this October, Potatoes USA is giving the trend a Halloween twist.

Content on the Potato Goodness social channels invites followers to throw a Spooky Spud Party — costumes encouraged, potatoes required — anchored by a lineup of potato-forward Halloween recipes:

Skull-shaped potato cutouts, crisped and topped with melted cheese and pepperoni faces, served with warm marinara for dipping.

A towering, three-tortilla quesadilla layered with crispy tater drums, seasoned beef, beans, and melted cheese under a blanket of enchilada sauce.

A playful spin on meatloaf topped with creamy mashed potatoes, great for a spooky dinner or party-ready appetizer.

Potato half-shells stuffed with smoky sloppy joes, crowned with mashed potatoes piped into eerie brain-like folds and drizzled with barbecue sauce.

Ghoulishly green fries made from spinach mashed potatoes, baked crisp and shaped into monstrous “fingers.”

Pesto-green mashed potatoes with a spread of toppings so everyone can build their own monstrous face.

Potato parties can be adapted to any theme — from whimsical potato tablescapes to kid-friendly parties with potato-stamp crafts. One creator hosted games like “pin the potato on the potato” and “potato pong.” As another creator put it, potatoes are “less of an ingredient and more of a lifestyle.”

Help spread the Halloween spirit by sharing the Spooky Spud Party recipes on your own social media or reposting from @potatogoodness on TikTok, Instagram or Facebook.
