This fresh potato basket information is from January 2020 through December 2020. It includes potato consumer information from the annual Attitudes and Usage Study, Kantar Insights Path to Purchase Study, and IRI Unify Sales Data.

Highlights:

  • Nearly 84% of households purchased potatoes, which is 2% higher than in 2019. 
  • Potatoes continued to be purchased most often with milk, bananas, bread, eggs, and tomatoes.
  • Retail consumers are spending $91.79 when fresh potatoes are in their basket and only half of that when they are not.
