Colorado families power up with potatoes

Before the holidays, Potatoes USA partnered with Littleton Public Schools Nutrition Services in Colorado to distribute over 8,500 meals in one day to local students and families. The meal kits were packed in ‘Potato Power’ reusable bags and included various food items, such as fresh potatoes, apples, milk, and cereal, along with potato recipe inspiration and nutrition facts. Littleton Public Schools Nutrition Services shared key potato nutrition facts and several photos from the event on the organization’s Facebook account and tagged our School Foodservice account, PotatoesRaiseTheBar, to highlight the partnership.

As school operators continue to serve students both on and off-premise, it’s important that students and families not only know how to prepare the kid-friendly vegetable, but also understand the nutritional value potatoes bring to the table.
