Potatoes by the pound at the Pennsylvania Farm Show 2020

2020

Pennsylvania Co-operative Potato Growers had a presence at the nation’s largest indoor agricultural event, the Pennsylvania Farm Show. The organization borrowed Potatoes USA’s potato performance branded material to cover two booths. One booth was at the farm market where PA potato growers displayed their local products and provided attendees with educational information. The other booth was in the food court where mouth-watering favorites like potato donuts, fries, and the classic baked potato were sold. For an added impact, they played the performance themed videos and the potato meal prep videos created for the industry to use on prominently displayed TV monitors. Nathan Tallman, General Manager at the state organization, says they like utilizing the performance messaging because “it gives people a positive feeling about eating potatoes.” Overall, PA potato growers sold over 20,000 potato donuts, 12.50 tons of fresh fries, six tons of baked potatoes, and 6,300 items of other potato products. Bringing the potatoes fuel performance messaging to this event is a great opportunity to educate the whole family about potato nutrition. It can also help other local potato growers become aware of the available messaging for their marketing campaigns.
